In a landmark move to bolster its research and development prowess, Clariant, a leader in the specialty chemicals sector, has announced a strategic partnership with Uncountable. This partnership will set a new standard in laboratory digitization, data analysis, and project execution speed.
Richard Haldimann, Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer, shared the strategic significance of introducing Uncountable’s platform, as it aligns seamlessly with Clariant's goals to transform its R&D capabilities. The decision to implement Uncountable’s solution came after recognizing the need to overcome significant challenges within its previous system, which suffered from low user acceptance due to its complexity and lack of intuitive design for the chemicals & materials sector.
"Our aim is clear: to fast-track project execution, leading to a reduced time to market," said Richard Haldimann. The integration of Uncountable's platform will enable Clariant scientists to harness advanced data analysis before a project even begins and use AI-driven tools to utilize existing data for predictions. This game-changer allows us to make swift decisions without the bottleneck of performing redundant experiments," Richard Haldimann shared.
Before this partnership, Clariant's R&D team was actively challenged by a more burdensome than beneficial system that impeded day-to-day operations. However, a six-week proof of concept (POC) with Uncountable revealed a user-friendly and intuitive system that promises to aid R&D users in their daily tasks more effectively.
"We are not just implementing a new system; we are empowering our employees with a tool that they will not only use but will genuinely enjoy engaging with," added Lea Bauer, Senior IT Business Consultant and ELN Product Owner. "This partnership with Uncountable represents a cornerstone of Clariant's strategy to further lab digitization and leverage AI to accelerate innovation across all our R&D activities."
According to César Chocou, Clariant’s Head of IT Supply Chain & Operations, the anticipation within Clariant is palpable, “Clariant sought an R&D solution to empower our scientists to easily document and reuse their work worldwide. After extensive evaluation, we selected Uncountable’s ELN for its fast, intuitive, and flexible platform, capable of integrating advanced analytics and AI to accelerate innovation for our customers.”
Clariant’s R&D team is eagerly looking forward to leveraging AI/ML-powered Design of Experiments (DOE) tools, scaling the platform for broader user onboarding, and fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
